Facebook app only works away from home

For about a month now my FB app will not work on my home wifi, facebook.com will not work in my browser either. It works on other wifi networks, and on the cell network. None of my other apps have connectivity issues. I can view other website in my browser. I have removed the facebook sync account and re-did it, I tried to unnistall facebook app but cannot. When I click on the facebook app, my notifications load but the news feed show an antenna and says Connection lost.

any clue?

Welcome aboard. I assume you are using the Facebook for Android application from the Play Store. If yes, then you should either clear data from the application, or uninstall | reinstall the app.

To uninstall the application: open up the FB app - tap menu - my apps - then find the app click on it _ you should then see the option to uninstall.

To clear data from the application: go to settings - applications - downloaded - find the FB app click on it and clear data.

I used your Steps to clear data, didn't help. I am unclear how you say to uninstall. When I do the steps to clear data, there is a button that say uninstall but it is greyed out
 
my phone has been doing the same thing recently the Facebook app just says lost connection retry and the mobile web version of Facebook goes SUPER slow or just doesn't work at all. I figured it was my phone so I factory reset it and wiped my ad card and still nothing! and I know it's not my internet connection cause it always worked perfect
 
It must be a preinstalled FB application on your device. Did you install it from the Play Store? I don't have that issue with the FB app from the market.

P.s. What device do you have?
 
It is preinstalled and I can only get updates from the Play Store.

I have an HTC HD2 but my phone thinks it an HTC desire cause I installed android 2 days after I got it 2 years ago. It will let me uninstall all updates, but the version it goes back to is terrible. I just think it's weird that the fb app and Facebook.Com are the only things that don't work on my home wifi they work on other wifi spots, i thought it was an issue with the update but I figured there be more cases like mine, and a quicker fix.

I have the same problem with my galaxy s3. Ever since the new facebook update my facebook app and my instagram app do not work on my wife. Words show up but no pictures or videos. I have uninstalled both apps and re-installed. - didn't work. I have cleared cache - didn't work. reset my modem and router - didn't work. These apps work fine over 4g but not on my wifi. My carrier is verizon
 
I have also had the same issue just recently. My Facebook and Istagram do not work. It will work if I use the browser and if I'm on a data or some other wifi network. Has anyone found a resolution?
