Help Facebook app problem

Just switched to a Samsung Galaxy S3 from an iPhone 4S. Liking it so far.. Only glitch is the Facebook app. I can sign in just fine and I can see my page and my friends pages. The thing that doesn't work is the news feed. It just says "trouble loading" "tap to retry" . When I try to retry I just get the same error message. This only happens to my news feeds and my friends lists. I tried to delete the app and reinstall and to also turn phone on and off and still no good. Same problem. . .

Any thoughts ?:confused:
 
The Facebook app on Android is so bad that a group of Facebook developers were forced to give up their iPhones and use Android phones so they could experience exactly what all the Android users are complaining about. Supposedly this will lead to an Android app that is as good as or better than the IOS app.

In the meantime use the web version at touch.facebook.com and use Chrome or some other browser, because the stock browser has problems with Facebook. I've been using the touch web interface and Chrome with no problems other than I'd like a few more bells and whistles.

Im having the exact same problem as u. couldn't figure out any solution and had to resort to creating a new facebook acc and it works fine after that. but my previous facebook acc is still facing the same problem.
 
Interesting.... I have yet to experience this did the news feed ever work for you?
 
Facebook used to be real bad on all my android phones but since ive had my s3 and upgraded to jelly bean ive not had a problem
 
I am having the exact same problem. When i log in under my wife's facebook account everything works. I also have facebook on a google nexus 7 and it doesn't work either. Everything works on the web and with my old iphone. Any suggestions??
 
the facebook app sucks on both ios and android i never or i should say rarely get my notifications, if i open the app there will be notifiactions sitting there but it doesnt show any in the phones notifications

Try clearing data for the app. I think that helped me with my notifications.
 
I installed the facebook app and was trying to upload a photo but it didn't work -_-. I just use my browser to go to facebook.
 
Been trying to upload a photo most of the morning, the browser version won't let me either. Must be issues at their end as I can upload it to other sites ok.
 
Must be a cache issue if some accounts work and others don't, do people think? (No help at all, but mine FB on S3 works fine)

[As a fyi, my PC's Chrome won't work Facebook.com upload or attachment in FB Messages properly, so Chrome may not be the best browser to try if you are having Android issues. IE9 works fine. Again, that's sod-all help! Sorry.]
 
I've also noticed that I get a random message (when I am not even in the FB Ap) "Unfortunately Facebook has force closed"
 
I hate it when you update your status and it fails to upload and on occasion you have to type out the whole thing again AND why is it always on a bigger status update.

What I also find is, the FB widget randomly doesn't work; an hour later it will be fine again. I have to use the icon sometimes.
