Facebook app update - no browser needed

Notifications worked for me on the last version of the app. I "updated" and now they don't work.

Also, when I click on one of my friend's profile it takes me to her info, but I can't see her wall or photos unless I hit the menu button>view profile and then it opens the browser. What gives???

The update has made the Facebook app slightly better. However, has anybody else noticed that several status updates are missing from the news feed on the app? They appear if you view Facebook using the browser though.
