Has anyone heard if there ever will be a facebook app update? I mean come on, the notifications don't even work on droid X.

FYI, they do not work on many android devices.

The only reason the app is even on my phone is so I can upload pictures.
I set up SMS notifications for my account that work pretty well.
I use LauncherPro Plus to get a good FB widget.
I use CheckIn for FB Places: CheckIn (Facebook Places) - Android app on AppBrain It actually is pretty nice
If I want to use FB Chat (rarely) I use Vonage: Vonage Mobile App for Facebook - Android app on AppBrain
It would just be nice if the FB app did all of this like on the iPhone. Eventually the app will catch up, Android has already passed iOS for popularity and the apps are catching up
Is that an Ohio State Android?
The FB Messages and Requests notifications work for me on my Incredible. Are there supposed to be more?

So what your saying is without the app being opened you are getting ringtone and visual updates? No email or text message updates?

Yeah, CheckIn is pretty good and I use it as well. Though this is something that should have been in the app in the first place! The iPhone Facebook app has it, I don't know why they have to dumb it down for Android.

Got bloo to work again so im sticking with that for the time being.

Go to the facebook mobile site on your phone... i think its m.facebook.com... then in the search box in the bottom of the page type in "bloo for android" and click search. Click on the application bloo for android. Click the button that says allow... thatll link your account with with bloo. Then you can just open the bloo app on your phone and request a code and itll work.

Yes, I do get the visual notification in the top bar for messages and requests. I always have my phone on vibrate so I never hear any ringtone, but sometimes it will vibrate and the only thing new is the FB notification.

Mmmmmmm...... so if someone comments on your profile you get a notification in the top of your android? Are you using a widget ? are you using " Facebook for Android " made by Facebook?
I have already answered this question! I said I get the notifications for messages (like the private messages) and requests. I do not get them for new posts or comments and thank God for that. The phone would have a notification icon contantly.

A lot of people would like get the the same notification when people make comments on F.B.
Is anyone else having this problem on the official Facebook application? Mobile picture uploads and status updates from the the official Facebook for Android application (with latest update) do not show up on my friends' news feeds or mine. Pictures and updates simply post to my wall and not on news feeds. Other friends updates using this same application however are posting as I see them on my feed. I have not changed any privacy settings in the recent past and this only started to occur about a week ago. Others have had this problem too and it is documented on the Facebook threads here: Welcome to Facebook
