Facebook App

Hi
I just installed the Facebook App and it seems to be constantly working in the background. I noticed this because I have 3g Watchdog installed and the increase in data usage only starts after I install this app. If I uninstall the app the increase then stops. If I install again the increase starts (I know because I have my phone set to manual syncs and If i sit with 3g watchdog open i can see it incrementing data usage until I uninstall). i've been into the settings in applications but there are no options to do anything.

can anyone advise please?

Dan

Well, its sort of supposed to constantly run by default so to give you notifications every refresh (but its sort of buggy). Anyway, open Facebook>menu>settings>refresh interval (never) and notifications (deactivate). Then check if it still uses data.

Thankyou. will try this later when I can charge up. Have spent that long trying things i've drainend the battery. :)

After trying that its still doing it. Looks like there are two ways I can do this. Logout of Facebook every time i end using it or switch off network access when i've finished using it. A bit of a pain but I guess thats what i'll have to do to preserve my data.
