Hi, I was just wondering if there are any methods or apps that notifies me when friends update their status. Of course I mean with the option to select the friend as in, choosing "friend a" so that my phone notifies me only when "friend a" updates his/her facebook status.

There is a way to only show contacts that are currently connected to Facebook.

Not sure about status updates for facebook.

You might need to use another facebook app to do it. I never use facebook on the phone, so I am of no use.

Any other suggestions?

I was told that apparently there is an option on the facebook website that alerts you when specific people updates their status. Got it working, now I can be a hardcore stalker XD. Thanks for the help

Yep, you gotta long on to your facebook on your pc and change your settings to send you alerts based on certain actions, like status updates.
