I'm experiencing an annoying Facebook cache issue, and wanted to see if anyone out there had the same problem and knew of a better solution.
The App was running horribly on my device. The Notification Feed would take sometimes minutes to load. Pictures and Albums would sometimes take minutes to load a single picture. Please note this was while connected to WiFi (and my bandwidth is around 10mbps).
After some troubleshooting, I soon noticed that the App was taking up over 50MB in size on my Device (because of the Cache) instead of the 5.11MB that it should be. After clearing the Cache it returned to 5MB and was flying and performing well. But after just a couple days of light usage it quickly grew to over 20MB and was chugging again.
Is there a way to prevent the Facebook App from storing Cache? Is the only good solution to go into settings and clear the Cache a few times a week? It sounds easy, but it's definitely annoying. I'd expect an App made by Facebook to be smarter than that about performance.
My device: Original Droid (not rooted - Android 2.2)
