Help Facebook Chat

Im currently on my laptop and on facebook, im getting all of my chats through on the laptop and my phone, is there anyway without signing out that you can stop messages going to both. The same when im on my phone chat and log on, on the laptop all my chats come up on the laptop. Annoying!

on chat pn the phone press the menu button then tap 'go offline' and talk to people on the laptop.. then on the laptop go offline and stay online on the phone. thats what i do

ooh, seeming as we're on this,

does anyone else get it where, say im on my chat and the messages received go into my inbox instead of my chat conversation? i keep getting it and dont realise people have tried to talk to me until i log onto my pc and have about 20 inbox messages, from people who have been chatting to me??
