Facebook Crashes after Android 8.1.0 installation

I recently installed Android 8.1.0 on my Pixel 1 device. Since that update, every time I open facebook the app crashes.

I rebooted the phone, tried clearing data/cache, and uninstalled and re-installed the app. Same results. Is this a known issue?

I haven't heard of this before, at least not in any large numbers -- FB tends to be buggy all by itself. Have you tried booting into recovery and wiping the system cache? Sound's like it might be hanging on to something from the previous OS.

There is no option in recovery mode to wipe the cache partition. So not sure how to do that on this device.

Oh, sorry. A little further research tells me they removed it in Oreo and later.

When FB crashes, does it give you an error message?

Just says Facebook has stopped then gives me the option to close the app, restart the app, send feedback (which I already did)... but even that goes away really quickly and I barely have any time to click. It's fast enough so that I can't take a screen grab of it.
