Facebook for htc sense vs facebook

What is the difference between Facebook for HTC Sense and just Facebook? I can't seem to find the 'for Sense' app, but it appears all over the place. Do I need both? What functionality do each provide?

From what I understand, Facebook for HTC Sense allows other parts of the phone to directly interact with Facebook. It allows things like seeing facebook status updates in your contact list, viewing facebook photos in the photo app, etc. The regular Facebook app is what you use to navigate the facebook site.

As for *needing* both, the HTC sense one is there to stay unless you root. The regular facebook app could be removed if you wanted and you could just use a browser to go to facebook's site.
