Facebook icon missing notification number

Hello

I just got an experia xz2 compact and now I'm experiencing some problems with the Facebook icon.

On my old galaxy A3 2016 I had push notifications disabled but was able to see the numbers of notifications on my startscreen, on the Facebook icon - but I'm not getting this on my new phone.

This is annoying, I don't want the push notifications, but I'd like to be able to see if there's something, if I'm opening up my phone..

I've tried comparing the app settings on the two phones, they are exactly the same..

Your talking about App Icon Badges. Depending on the phone provider and android version you may or may not have this option. I believe you need android Oreo or android 8 as it is also known.

Go into you phone settings and look for notifications and you should find the settings you need in there. If they are not available to you some alternative launchers support them, just check the Playstore for your options.

Thanks yessika. I would say that Sony has decided to not enable badge count as a setting so you will probably need to use a luancher to gain this feature.

Using Nova Launcher as an example you can gain this feature by starting it up and going through the setup process followed by:

  1. Long press on a clear area on your homepage,
  2. Choose settings,
  3. Notifications badges,
  4. Numeric badges.
You will need to install a plugin for the feature to work as mentioned in Nova
Hope this helps.

You need to make nova launcher your default home screen. You need to go into it's settings and choose Tesla unread for badges and make sure Facebook is included in it's list
