"Facebook is not responding"

My Samsung Galaxy S3 (Orange UK) keeps popping up a message saying "Facebook is not responding. Would you like to close it?", with buttons for Wait, Report and OK.

No matter which I choose, the message will pop up again in a few minutes or hours.

I've tried deleting both Facebook entries in the Accounts & Sync options on the phone, and I've tried deleting and re-installing the Facebook app from the Play Store. No luck.

Running stock 4.0.4.

Updating the application will solve this issue. Open up the play store app and tap on the 'My apps'. Choose the 'Update' option.
 
Hi New member here..I,m using the Galaxy S3 too and getting the same problem with the F/Book app.Have un/re-installed it several times but its still happening.Have the phone software up-to-date(19300XXLH1)

Have tried what Colmmcgrath has posted,but it tells me that all apps are up-to-date
Any other things that can be tried?

Same issue here. Also, I cannot upload any photos as my status or onto my friend's wall through the Facebook app. Can you guys do it?
 
Same exact problem on my S3 (TMOBILE). My phone has been having problems primarily with Facebook, but a few other apps start screwing up as well. Then the phone has some stability issues, but resolves itself.

Also its completely up to date.
 
Facebook either works perfect or complete crap... Using a rooted evo lte. It's not your phones it is this crappy app, which their supposedly fixing... Again..
 
Didn't that update come with that?
Did read about Facebook update and just figured it was to do with the phone update as it started right after I downloaded that.

Yup same exact problem for me. First Facebook not responding pop ups now pop ups for some other apps such as AP and touchwiz.

Well I guess what I was trying to say is that the issues stem from the facebook app itself. Not the 4.0.4 update sorry about that. I don't know that the 4.0.4 update came with the Facebook update.
 
Same thing happens to me on 4.0.4 desire s ics

Only started following last Facebook application update

Waiting for next one to resolve it

Facebook just released an update today that is supposed to fix this problem. Fingers crossed!
 
If your Facebook app is not responding then try this

- open your Facebook app (it will be blank as white paper)
- turn off the WiFi immediately
- press home button
- "Facebook is not responding, do you want to end process?" prompt will appear, between 3 options (wait, report, kill/no) press "kill" or "no".
- again open facebook app
- turn on WiFi and when prompt appear again, press "wait".
- wait for 2 minutes and your app will be working properly in a while.

It worked for me, hope this will fix your problem too.
