Help Facebook on the Ticker

I just bought my continuum today and I'm already getting a little bit annoyed by it. I'm trying to sinc my facebook with the ticker, but I only want things related to me (i.e. a notification or a message or friend request, etc) to appear on the ticker, but as of right now, it's only showing people's status updates (I tested it by having friends poke me, and nothing showed up). Under the ticker settings in the general settings area, I have it set to show messages, pokes, etc, and it says nothing about status updates there for me to un-check. Is there a way to disable this? Is this just an unchangeable feature of having my facebook account linked to the ticker?

And yeah, Facebook and the ticker don't seem to be best friends as of yet.
