Facebook phone

When you can buy a Samsung phone originally sold in Czechoslovakia, and the thing has FB on it (in Czech) you know it's ubiquitous. (My Apollo was Czech)

I'd still like to know what would happen if FB and Google got into a conflict over ad revenue.

The minute FB was sold and went public was the day it was doomed to corporate greed stupidity and ultimately...it will be it's downfall.

there was a time when it was innovative..and served it's purpose...
but that time has passed...
and now it's just become...a creepy nuisance...I think the whole FB thing is sketchy to put it mildly.....
yuck and no thank you....

Would that be the Czech Republic or Slovakia? FYI Czechoslovakia doesn't actually exist any more, not since 1993. ;)

Bundled Facebook junk on a Samsung phone was most likely something that was done for a particular carrier. Was the phone purchased from a Czech carrier? And if it's in Czech, than that's something that's very localised. I've seen bundled FB crap on Samsung phones that came from Hong Kong, sold by 3 HK. Non-carrier Samsung phones from HK don't have the FB stuff.

Would truly be a kick in the pants if Google+ took off three months into the Facebook phone's launch...

Nothing is so tightly integrated into Android that rooting and Rom Toolbox cannot solve.

If people like and use FB, that doesn't bother me - but FB money-grubbing new practices are disturbing for non-users. FB should be a voluntary service for those that want it only!

I could not have said that better myself! :)

Like you, I have nothing against my friends that use Facebook, but there is absolutely NO Reason I should be forced to use Facebook.

I previously had a job that strictly prohibited me from using any Social Networking sites, and now, I just don't chose to, because, I just don't want my life to be broadcast to the world.

This is troubling if it's accurate. No phone coming, just a more obnoxious 'in your FaceBook' experience. I'm sure with lots of large ads too.

I agree, I am sick and tired of having Facebook shoved in my face. I actually had to work to completely disable all of the Facebook app that came with my current OG EVO, and I don't even have a Facebook account (the phone kept naggy me with a reminder... "Log in to your Facebook account")

I seriously hope that having a Facebook account it doesn't become a condition of employment. Just as I hope Google does not make having a G+ account, a condition of using an Android phone or Gmail.

I bought it unlocked from Amazon. I have no idea. The language on the phone was Czech. I can't see an importer changing languages on the phones. The unsold inventories are marketed in lots as far as I understand.

I think the only country that you could define which part is which is Yugoslavia, where both the Roman and Cyrillic alphabets are in use.

Bulgaria uses Cyrillic - I accidentally switched the phone by fat fingering. Thanks be that Android keeps most of the stuff in the same order regardless of what language you use.

I like some of the concepts they have come up with, the deleting things from their homescreen, you don't have to drag it all the way to delete it like on android, but instead you can flick it towards the delete.

But I think they have forgot what the purpose of a phone is. It doesn't constantly show what your signal is, you don't see your battery life all the time, and the time display isn't the best either.

A few things they need to work out before I see it being more "popular"
