Facebook Place Checkin's via SMS

I have a Droid and I am subscribed to several facebook friends' updates via sms but I do not get their places "check ins" .. a friend who has an iphone does... i've checked all my facebook sms settings and my phone settings.. does anyone know a fix for this? ( I've seen the same thing on the Droid Incredible.. no sms' recv'd for check ins )
 
yes, if I take the time to go look... im wanting the instant sms text.. like I get for all the other status updates for that person.... I get everything they post except their check-ins ???
 
Maybe a dumb question, but are you sure your friend is getting them from Facebook and not a third party like foursquare?

A text is a text and would go to any phone. Shouldn't have anything to do with the OS. Have the friend tell you how he/she set it up.
 
Im sure...... I thought a text is a text as well.. that it shouldnt matter.. and I sat and watched them recv' my "check in" via text on their Iphone a few seconds after I "checked in"...
 
I see an option on facebook.com to receive a text if someone checks you in at a place. Did you show him as being with you?

yeah...problem is I want notifications of check-ins for a few friends/family that are not with me.. most in other states etc...
 
I know it's possible because at random I received a notification that a friend checked into a gym on my dx. I was nowhere near them. However, I have no clue how to manipulate those settings. I found it rather annoying :D
