Just got a samsung galaxy s2. I've installed facebook and my status update has my location in it, ie near ???. How do I stop it doing that?

Not sure you can unless you turn off the GPS settings on the phone but happy to be corrected.

Where do you see the location by wifi/mobile network? I'd love to stop the location posting too.. but am not finding the way to turn this off.

All I have checked there is google location services....which I want so weather app and such works. So it's all or nothing? Not a way to just stop fb?

No.. it seems to be a permanent feature where as before it was a temp thing if you wanted to "check in". You can't disable it in the main account either :(

I hear Google+ calling ....

Indeed.. I don't mind having the option to share such information and I'm some people enjoy having the ability... but it's just not my style.

Im staring to hate fb app..
But there is one other way to STOP sharing your location before you post:

To remove that option on your phone, when you're about to post a status, click on the little upside down tear drop thing that is between the option to add a person to your status or a picture...that should remove it for you (I think). (WORKS)
You will see your current location at the bottom with a tiny cross next to it, click on the cross..
Unfortunatly you will have to do it before every post :(

It's just another way Facebook gathering information about you. My solution is turn off the GPS using a widget. Saves battery too.
