Nice update. Hopefully they keep bringing em out.

New features of 1.1.2:
-Ability to browse friends' profiles
-Native photo integration

Yeah. Cause honestly they could make all the improvements in the world and if I dont get notifications, its useless. I do not want to login to FB every half hour or so just to see what updates there are.

Kind of strange cause I had to do a search for the app and then manually update. I did not have it in my downloads list, so I would have never known the update was available had I not seen this thread. Even after updating, the program does not show up in my downloads list....Hmmm.

I'll bet that's because the Facebook app comes stock on the Moto Droid. I had to download it from the marketplace for my Droid Eris. It shows up in my downloads.
 
I checked my Downloads list last night (on Moto Droid) and it showed up as an update. I don't use the notifications so I couldn't tell you if they added that in or not, I just check whenever I get a chance.
 
I had to manually find it and install it. After that it did install and it shows in my downloads.

Dont see anything different in notifications sadly though.
 
i still think bloo is better for now. both apps have a looooooong way to go before they are considered good in my book. i use the app on my ipod touch
 
Is anyone else having a force close issue with the new update? When I go to my profile, it force closes on the wall tab. If I switch to info or photos before it tries to load the page its fine. I'm using the HTC Dream running 1.5.

There is no reason notifications should be limited to messages, pokes, friend requests and event invites...you should get notifications for...well...notifications!

Ya, this is true, but I don't think I'd want my phone warning me every time somebody sent me a goat in Farmville.
 
First off, the Facebook app does show up in my downloads list after a phone reset. Fine.

Secondly, I still do not get ANY notifications....odd. I have checked all the settings, and they are as they should be. Every 30mins, notifications checked, etc.
 
Anyone notice that with the update the size of the app seems to keep getting bigger with use?

There is no cache to clear but the data seems to keep growing. With precious internal memory allotment, this really bothers me and I'm not sure what to do other than uninstall and reinstall occasionally.
 
I don't get something... everyone is looking for the next best facebook app, even the ones made by facebook for all versions of PDA/Phone just plain suck... Here's the BEST facebook app I've seen, though it won't give you notifications, but I kinda don't care about the notifications anyway... with 300+ real friends - not mafia wars friends, lol - that would just be annoying to hear every 20 seconds... "DRRRROOOOIIIIIDDDD"... heh.

Is this for the default facebook app on the Droid? and if so how do I update? Its not in my downlaod. Or does it automatically download.
 
im trying to update mine. everytime i download it from the market it says, packet isnt signed right so it wont update. anyway to uninstall the stock facebook app? i got the phone today and my version is out of date.

im also not getting a single notification at all either

I just had a look at this and it was so out about 8 hours out of date! So not the best way to look at facebook for me.

Do be honest I think the new update to the facebook for android app is excellent. It's so quick at updating now.
