Factory Reset w/ Root

Just a few quick questions for all the vets around here seeing as I'm still just a lowly rooting newb...

I've been having some issues with forces closes lately and was wondering if a factory reset and full wipe might clear things up.

1) If I do a factory reset will I lose root?

2) Can I restore a nandroid backup after doing a factory reset or would that essentially defeat the purpose?

You wont lose root, it will only "factory reset" the ROM you're currently running. Pretty much it will just reset your all the default settings for you're ROM. And yes you will still be able to restore any backup you have.

Or you could just restore your nand.
