Root Factory reset

If you are using the settings menu or recovery to do the reset, then you shouldn't lose root, but you may need to reinstall superSU (or whatever root manager you were using.)

I just purchased Samsung J7 from Best Buy $150

Will be using that as primary and giving wife lg volt

Thought it might be good idea to reset it back to begining

I have twrp 2.8.1.0 It has 2 options Advanced Wipe and format Data not sure which or both to use

Well that got screwed up....Goes to show dont play if you dont know what ur doing. Was in TWRP and accidentally hit that Wipe button which apparently did reset phone. Now Im trying to use the last back up i did a few days ago but it doesn't seem to put phone back to state before reset.
Let me guess it wont happen after a factory reset....assuming that was considered a factory reset
