factory reset

[verizonuse]

I have the original Android, if I do a factory reset, will I lose all my apps and phone contacts?

Welcome to the forums!
Yes, if you make a factory reset, phone deletes all installed apps and user settings (including contacts, SMS). After factory reset, you also have to enter Gmail account again (so if your contact are synchronized with Gmail, phone will synchronize them)

With contacts it's always good to make a backup of them since some Android contacts may be local to the phone and not sync'd with Gmail.
