Help factory setting

Hi all...im new here and was wondering if someone would be so kind to help me out with my galaxy s?!
It freezes, shuts itself off, force close window pops up, battery seems too die quick, speed seems slow compared to new....been dropped a few times lol...
How do I fix this prob? I've already backed up my contacts and saved my pics....just wondering if I do a full reboot to factory settings.... will this fix my prob?
The phone is three yrs old and when it works its smooth !

Any advice will help

sounds like a factory reset is in order to me.

I need to find out how to fix it coz I cant fathom buying a new one, especially since I still owe $ on this one !
 
Hello and welcome to the forums . You say you have a problem with apps downloading . Can i ask what kind of device this and what is the error you getting. And how did you do the factory reset . Did you wipe data and cache and wipe dalvick cache and etc. .

he has the samsung galaxy s and it is not rooted(from what i know) so you can't wipe dalvik cache.
