"failed to mount SDcard" recovery proplem

I flashed a stock ICS 4.0.3 on my phone it's running great but when i tried to root it using flashing a zip file from recovery mode it says E: failed to mount /SDcard" how can i solve this proplem.

Try downloading remount sd from market

You can't root using recovery mode. You need to root with Odin which will then give you cwm recovery mode which then let's you flash zip files. Follow this guide and you should be fine
