Root Failed trying to UnRoot Unrevoked Help!

I've been trying to unroot my phone to take it in for service. I am using Unrevoked Forever and S is Off. I tried unrooting using this method The Droid Demos Forum • View topic - [GUIDE] How to Unroot the EVO in 2 STEPS

I tried applying the zip from Recovery but when i click on the zip file it quickly displays the status at the bottom and it disappears. It does not show the process of the zip being applied. I am using ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1 I dont know if this has anything to do with it but it seems like its the problem. Is there a way that i can remove ClockworkMod and apply another Recovery? Or do anyone have a better method?

I used the ruu.exe, but you can download rom manager, and it will flash ra recovery and try that and see if it helps

sadly thats not quite true.

OP im having a similar issue that i posted here
[Q] cant go into recovery - xda-developers.

and like i say towards the end
so according to the 2 most basic things i learned about rooting

1. titanium backup
2. terminal emulator

i am not rooted and do not have superuser permissions

i do however have S-off and get the red triangle when ever i try to go into recovery.

The reason that this happened is because you flashed unrevoked forever. This will maintain S-OFF even if you unroot. The only way to get S-ON is to flash the S-ON zip in your custom recovery. Since you already unrooted, you now have the stock recovery. What you need to do is use unrevoked 3 (not 3.21) to get back root and a custom recovery, then flash the S-ON file in recovery. After this, it is safe to unroot and you will be back at stock.

Had the same issue and resolved it with this last night. Worked perfectly!

Ok i did this and now im running the RUU.THANKS..Now could u tell me how could i update to Froyo? do i have to place a file in my SD card? if so where could i find this?

If you are stock, you can just take an OTA update from Sprint.

is unrevoked forever included in unrevoked 3.21? if its not then i did not use unrevoked forever.


and busychild, what exactly did you do and where do i find unrevoked 3 not 3.21?
