FAKE AT&T press conference (just dreaming)

AT&T's new CEO announced radical changes today to the way the company handles its wireless services. In a press conference held this morning, he announced AT&T would be combining its texting and data plans. "There will be no such thing as an 'SMS plan'. That's a scam. We knew it. Our informed customers knew it. And the other carriers know it," he said as reporters looked as if they couldn't believe what they were hearing. "Texting is just data. So any texting you do, from now on, will be deducted from your data account, according to the actual size of the text message, including MMS."

He also announced that data will be sold at the flat rate of $10 per Gigabyte. "We're not going to charge you 15 bucks for the first 200 MB (which is one fifth of a GB), when we're charging 25 dollars for TWO GIGABYTES. There will be no broad daylight robbery packages anymore. You will pay $10 for each GB you use, and one GB will be the smallest unit of data you can purchase to make it cost effective for us, and I'm just being honest here."

And before those present could catch their breath, he threw yet another bombshell. "Bloatware will be removable. Look, our phones will always have our apps, because we're trying to convince our customers to use them. But those of you who choose not to use them will be able to uninstall them, permanently. We're no longer going to prevent our customers from uninstalling, or even shutting down, apps they don't want. That's just ridiculous."

Another major announcement was regarding tethering. "Here's another thing. We sell you the ability to consume data. We don't give a damn HOW you do it. You want to tether your computer, go for it. You want to stream it right to your trash bin, we don't care. No extra charge."
