Fast charger

Is the charger that comes with the Verizon s7 edge the fast charger? Or is that a separate purchase? It took about 6 hours to go from 50 to 100%. Thanks.
 
I have the AT&T version of the edge, and the charger that came with the box is the fast charger. In fact, when you plug into the charger, a screen note pops up statsing "fast charge enabled" that gives a specific time that the device should reach 100%. I would imagine that the Versizon verison is the same.

I do have a question about this. I have the at&t version, came with a cable and a fast charger plug. Is there any difference in the cable and a standard data cable? Just wondered if using a different cable (I have a longer one I'd like to use) with the fast charger would still allow fast charging.
