Help Fast charging / chargers question

This might seem like a silly question, I'm not sure but I can't seem to get a clear answer.
I'm interested in getting a Moto Z Play phone and I can see that it comes with a USB C charger that's all one unit so the cable is built into the charger, it's also labeled as a "Power Charger" which I assume is just a quick charger. Anyway I have a number of other chargers e.g. car charger and one at work that are micro USB, if I buy a USB C to Micro USB adapter could I charge this phone from any normal android micro USB charger and it'll just charge slower?

Kind of...from what I found, the adapter from your old chargers (micro USB) to USB C need to have a 56ohm resistor built in, and yes they will charge at a slower rate.
I use the Tronsmart brand micro usb to usb c adapter to use my at-work chargers.

I use my Anker 26800 for a lot of stuff, it is the fastest recharger I have ever seen.

just plug it in, and it charges in slow mode.
push the little button, and it goes into Fast Charge mode.

I like that it is portable and I can use it away from the electrical wall outlets...

Thanks peeps, I've ordered a couple of the anker ones to try. If I buy a USB to USB C cable to connect phone to PC, will that have the 56 ohm resistor built in?


ETA: I can see that some seem to and some don't. Can not having one damage the phone or just affect charge speed?
