Root Fast reliable, uncluttered ROM?

Hi. I have Samsung Captivate and I'm sick of having to pull out the battery every other day because the phone decides to freeze up for some reason.

I rooted it, but I haven't done a lot of modifications..just cosmetic ones like launcherpro.

Is there a rom that's very reliable (i.e. no more freezes or lags) and uncluttered?
