Root Fastboot

I don't know if there is an easier way. (There might be, but depends on what version Windows you using.) I'm using Win7 and went this route....
Android-SDK-Windows
Follow the tutorial and you'll be fine. Install packages ( I went with the defaults) until you can do fastboot in a command window and you get anything other than 'fastboot not recognizable program' or what ever.
If your using XP try this;

it works
