Walt Parazaider, one of the founders of the band Chicago, died a few days ago at 81, from complications of Alzheimers.
The band issued a statement which noted in part: "A Rock & Roll band with horns was Walt's idea. He put the band together and they rehearsed in the basement of his mother's home. He is also the one who did the hard work to book shows for the young, unknown band, performing top 40 covers at local bars in and around Chicago. We are forever grateful for his contributions. Perhaps his greatest gift was bringing people together. This amazing music may have never been heard had it not been for Walt's vision."

RIP, Mr. Parazaider, and thanks for the excellent sounds. Condolences to your fans, friends, bandmates, family and loved ones.

About a week ago, Justin Cary, the bassist for Sixpence None the Richer, suffered a stroke, and he died on Thursday at age 50.

RIP, Mr. Cary, with thanks for the tunes. Condolences to your fans, friends, bandmates, family and loved ones.

I can remember, as a young kid, getting a Columbia House add and thinking what a great deal. (Ok, like I said, I was young.)
Well, one of the albums was from Blood, Sweat and Tears. I almost wore the grooves out on that one.
I was saddened by the death of David Clayton-Thomas, yesterday at the age of
84.

Rest in peace.

Song kinda fits now. Sadly.

I stumbled across this list from the first half of 2026 and was surprised how many we had missed, including some really notable names. The list itself is "over-complete" as it names a couple of people twice. (I mean sure, EW isn't exactly the epitome of journalism, but don't they have some interns they could charge with at least reading through the names to be sure they aren't double-counted?)

Yeah EW is very weak writing.. Seriously I stopped scrolling midway.

British actor Michael Byrne has died at 82. Well known on the stage as well as screens both large and small, he was a busy working actor. American audiences would probably beat remember him from IJ-Last Crusade and HP-Deathly Hallows I.

RIP, Mr. Byrne, and thanks for sharing your talents. Condolences to your fans, friends, family and loved ones.

Bonnie Tyler had an unusual voice. My favorite song of hers was Total Eclipse Of The Heart.
My son and I rented a cabin in Eastern Oklahoma and the family met there to watch the total eclipse of the sun in April 2024. We played Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse Of The Heart on the loud speaker as eclipse took place.

Thank you for the great music Bonnie Tyler.

Aw, man, this one hurts. I liked Sam Neill in everything I saw him in. I know most will think of Jurassic Park, but I always think of The Hunt for Red October.

He died at 78 after a sudden and brief illness.

RIP, Mr. Neill, and thanks for sharing your talents. Condolences to your fans, friends, family and loved ones. You'll be missed.
