Father's Day 26

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. I was fortunate to have four children to call me dad.
It has been a wonderful experience. I also was lucky to have a great father. He was not the loving or playing with sort of father. He was a great example of high morals and hard working, faithful, honest, and fair man. I've tried to model myself after him and will always be grateful he was an excellent teacher without teaching.

And to you guys as well.

I can relate, @PitCarver - our daughter got caught up in a cult. The first step is to wrap deceit up in a package of truth and then slowly divide the kids away from the parents until the cult becomes the surrogate parent. We've seen her twice in 10 years: but at least had lunch with us a couple of months ago to celebrate after she graciously informed us that she'd gotten married. Still, it leaves an empty space at the table and in the heart. Son was here this weekend, though, and we had a great time.

This seems to be a holiday with more than a fair degree of polarization; there's a not-insignificant percentage of people have problems with their dads, and to them a wish for a "Happy Father's Day" is more a trigger than a warm thought.

My dad died when I was pretty young and he and my mom were divorced a few years before that, so I don't have a whole lot of memories, but the vast majority of those I do have are happy.

Happy Father's Day to those for whom this is a warm and happy celebration.

My dad died when I was pretty young too, 2001.
My mom knows I am like him, timid and sometimes too quiet.
Mouse type quiet, but I did changed mid 2001, no one knew it, I just kept burrying my secrets to a point of no return.
