Help Faulty headphone connector-DISMISS: issue fixed

I have had this problem on 2 new handsets Samsung Galaxy S2 which is weird so I am wondering if anyone has experienced this.
If I push the connector all the way in, the audio just does not work, FM radio cannot be turned on and a message appears saying "headphones not connected". So I have to pull the connector out a bit and even worse I have to rotate it back and forth until the audio kicks in. What is this about?
Just a defective handset?
I am on the second "new" handset (a replacement one) so just bad luck???
