Favorite App so far.... Developers please see link to Announcements above.

In case anyone is interested, the apps that I use all the time are:

ChompSMS (Text/MMS tool)

Quick Profiles (Like on a BB or Nokia, for changing profiles)

Twidroid (Tried the rest, prefer Twidroid for Twittering)

Astrid (Todo lists that sync with RTM)

Newsrob (RSS reader)

Listen (Podcasts) {Note there are apps out there that do both RSS feeds
and Podcasts - but I find it easier to use two specialist programs)

RoboDefense (although good not as amazing as some people make out)

All the apps I use sometimes but I still recommend

WaveSecure Beta
Soccer Livescores
Guardian Anywhere
BeebPlayer

Hope that helps!

APPALARM ! This app rocks for an alarm clock. I can't say enough about it. Somebody actually listened. This Alarm clock will play Pandora and Slacker. It has adjustable snooze and many features. .99 is cheap for a killer app that does what it is supposed to and the developer actually has been doing updates when people ask for them. He listens. It even has a backup alarm (need to set alarm sound file if you use this) should you not have a internet connection. This alarm can even toggle the wifi on if you use wifi and don't have 3g. You can set it up to text somebody or call them. Multiple alarms. You can even set the alarm volume.

Yes this sounds like a running advertisement, but I just discovered this thing and I'm totally jazzed because I've been looking so long and when I found it, it really works!!! I tested it on my wife's Eris and it worked fine too.

Meh, the built in alarm clock has woke my ass up every weekday without fail, no need form me to download another app that takes up storage on my phone :-P

I really like chompSMS for texting, better then the default messagin on the Eris IMO. For games, i love jewellust and jewels, basically anything bejewed:P as well as Robo defense, and Buka lite. And to impress other people i usually show them the sky map and metal detector.

Just got an Android less than a week ago (switched from an iPhone) so I'm still digging for good apps.

Here's what I like so far:

Seesmic
Endless Walls
ShopSavvy
Fandango

Apps I can't do without:

Astrid ToDo list
Twidroid twitter client

And of course (but I wrote it, so I might be a bit biased ;))
The Gasoline Brothers Player
Which features 3 free albums from a great dutch indie band. Awesome music for the best price available. Did I mention it's free?

i got the eris. i have been to the market but, i cannot find DockRunner. Has it been taken off of the market. I have tried every spelling possible.

I'm changing my vote to xScope. It is still a worl in progress, but it is fast, attractive, and the developer is super responsive.

Don't sweat it, i tried the droid last month and the htc is way more impressive. i might miss the nav a little, but the map works just as well and we'll get the os update eventually. the eris is much more stable, the sense ui is sweet, and the overall build of the hardware is miles ahead of the motorola.... plus it's sexy baby!

Aldiko is great for me , it sucks that i've never seen anyone mentioning it. it allows you to read ebooks in epub format from your sd card. So with torrents and pdf to epub converters easily available , i never need to go to the library again! :D

Hi there!
Question on this....I would love to be able to use this Aldiko and read my books on my phone however, I am having trouble understanding how to do this. Do I have to buy books that are in the epub formats? Can I get free books from the library and put them on my phone?

Sorry, very new to this.....

Thanks in advance for help

THANKS FOR THIS GREAT THREAD! I'm on the Moto Milestone losing sleep installing apps.
So far, favs are:
-ES File Explorer
-chompSMS
-Unit Converter - Convert Pad
-DockRunner
-Documents to Go (paid)
-Keeper (paid)

QUESTION: Does anyone know an SMS app that will allow me to SCHEDULE sending messages -- like write it at 3AM but it doesn't go out until 8AM?

OK, It was Shazam, until I installed the Swype keyboard beta this weekend. now it's Swype, by a long shot.

Locale is awesome. I am a firefighter and I set it so that when I leave the station on a call it won't ring but as soon as I get back to the station the ringer turns back on. Also when I am home my freind across the street has a theatre room and as soon as I near his property my phone goes to a low volume ring and vibrates so that noone is disturbed.
