Favorite App so far.... Developers please see link to Announcements above.

Greatly appreciate the warning. I had a misconception that Dropbox sync was securely built in to KeePassDroid (I haven't used KeePassDroid that much yet), from reading this Market user review: "Use this in conjunction with dropbox, works great!".

Lat thing I want is to bad-mouth an app I'm not familiar with - for all I know, the encryption on the locker that gets uploaded is more than just peachy.

Maybe a good idea to check the dev's website or drop them a line - like the old boy said, trust but verify.

And DropBox is supposed to be secure but I'd say it's one thing to entrust your normal files, another to entrust a container with critical passwords that can open up all sorts of things without being 100% sure that if DropBox were compromised, that stolen locker would still be safe.

I just read on lifehacker that dropbox mobile apps are less secure then the desktop.

Dropbox Mobile Apps Are Less Secure than the Desktop Utility [Updated]

So yea.... do be cautious...

If you're using DropBox - an external server - to entrust your KeePassDroid safe repository of passwords, then I'd like to suggest that it's maybe a good idea to either limit the type of passwords being stored or pray they never get hacked. Just a suggestion, because I'm cautious that way.

I agree. Here is what I do when it comes to all things Internet. I simply assume whatever I post or upload, it will be discovered any used against me. Like my passwords and CC numbers. I simply assume this and therefore, I keep the vital crap in my head.

As for Dropbox, I like it. I started using it when I bought my iPad. Greatly simplifies things; I can get to my crap from any web enabled device.

While it's not a "fun" app per se, TOUCHDOWN is the best app ever. It allows your Droid to sync flawlessly with Outlook. Because of Touchdown I have been able to use my Droid for work and ditch the Blackberry once and for all!. It's pricey at $20 but its worth every penny!

I just meant that some apps make use of Dropbox as their cloud repository, via a sync, like KeePassDroid, Epistle, DropSpace, ...

I wonder if dropbox knows the apps that use their features. DropSpace sounds REALLY interesting. Have you used it with dropbox? If so, what's your experience as the reviews are mix.

No, I haven't, sorry. I was also a bit put off by the reviews. Am only in my third week of Android, and haven't yet figured out how useful some of these apps will be.

InvisiBright!

InvisiBright is an invisible brightness adjustment utility. Adjust from inside any application by either SWIPING across the screen or TILTING your device. Keeping brightness in check like this is the best way to SAVE BATTERY!

Ok, I'm new to this phone scanning thing. How would I go about scanning the barcode above with my phone? I have a Thunderbolt.

Thanks!

I've tried every launcher out there and every single time I've gone back to MotoBlur because it's not buggy and doesn't crash :) launcherpro was nice, ADW was the worst for me D:

I've tried every launcher (a couple times) and absolutely swore by LauncherPro. Then a couple days ago I tried GO Launcher EX and I almost immediately uninstalled LP. GO Launcher is like butter on my D2G and I love the transitions and app drawer customizations.

I don't care much for Go Launcher, so far Open Home 6 is going well for me though still somewhat buggy as it just recently came out of beta. I haven't gone back to LauncherPro in quite some time, Zeam Launcher although basic is about the only other launcher right now I'd bother going back to, I also like HeLauncher for its simplicity and clone skins (Motoblur, Sense, Froyo, GB) which should be a default launcher on AOSP roms.

I recently obtained Wave Launcher, what a nice app and put my most used apps in there.

I'm surprised. GO Launcher is amazing IMO. FYI I just downloaded HeLauncher and Open Home 6 to give them a try.

BTW if you like Wave Launcher you should LOVE SwipePad.

I'm also using Go Launcher EX. It more fun to use than Launcher Pro. Especially the different themes, apps drawer flexibility, more than 7 homescreens are all advantages.

learn to fly is a fun little game i found its biased off the the flash game flight but instead of a paper airplane your a penguin ... with ROCKETS :D

My favorites would be:

LauncherPro (because it's LauncherPro)
Folder Organizer (change icons, create folders etc.)
Multicon (helps squeeze in extra icons)
aCCleaner (clears cache)

FotMob (football scores)
GTunes (music downloads)
IMDb (movie info)
Movies (cinema listings)
MixZing (media player)
PingChat! (free text to anywhere in the world)
Shazam (song identifier)
Sky+ (record your programs from your phone)
Unified Remote (control your PC from your phone)
Wikidroid (wikipedia app)
Zedge (wallpapers)

Angry Birds (duh)
Words With Friends (closest thing to scrabble)
Gun Bros
Live Holdem Pro (addictive texas holdem)
Stupid Zombies

BattStatt
3G Watchdog
Mini Info
Beautiful Widgets
dClock
Tajm
Widgetsoid

I have installed the following Apps on my Android:

Go Launcher Ex
Android Assistant - 12 features
TuneIn Radio
iheartradio
Lookout Mobile Security
Astrid Tasks
Facebook For Android
Vonage For Facebook
Backup Everything
Dolphin Browser Mini

I read that following Apps are highly rated:

Dropbox
Layar
Listen
EasyTether Lite
Shazam
Documents To Go
TV.com
Chrome To Phone
Voice Recorder
Visual Voicemail

:)

My favourite app is the new TraceSaver App,

it's free and lets you track your routes, you can make notes of areas with poor network coverage and report them,
it provides a complete log of your calls so that you can view where you made them from and other key statistics
It links up with your computer so that you can view the maps and summary data online!
Have a look at it, its free!!!

I had an iphone before and so I sorta just re-looked for most that were on my iphone

My most used apps are:
Skype (even tho it is a bit crap on the htc desire in comp 2 to the iphone)
WhatsApp
Dropbox
Google Maps (obviously)
BA app - fantastic
AK Notepad
Journey Pro (amazing for London)

others are:
Cam Scanner
CloudPrint (keeps on not working for me but if it would work,it would be great....)
Around me
Trainline
zoopla
XE currency
App2SD
Convert Pad
Astro (don't really understand it but I think it does the job)
UrbanSpoon (not really great in London/UK)
SBB Mobile (this is a fantastic app but only relevant if you travel in Switz)
Booking.com
Flashlight
Amazon Kindle (again it seemed to work better on the iphone)
and various others

What I would like is an android version of
Boris Bikes
A good first aid/emergency free app (altho I do have the us army guide thing which is cool)
Waitrose app (I've got Ocado but still like the recipes on the Waitrose one)
A British Birds Lite
Doodle Premium style app

As I am fairly new to android phones I don't really know what Launcher Pro etc. are for ... but given the lots of recommendations I will try to check them out.

I'd also like an app that let me know how many mbs I am using as I am using them (a widget I guess) so that when I am abroad I don't go over my 25mb limit. Vodafone send a text informing when one is close to the limit --- so there is obviously a way to calculate it --- I wish there was an app that would do that for me. So when I am using an app/Skype or the Internet or Google maps abroad a little counter could show the megabytes being used as I am using them. That would useful too.

And lastly as I keep on getting this "low Phone Storage" notification --- why isn't there an app that will manage that? App2sd is very good at clearing caches and moving things to the sd card but there is presumably a whole lot of other stuff taking up space on my phone --- I don't know what the **** it is.... and even if I did know, I don't know how to move it or compress it or whether I have duplicates of files that I can delete or whatever it is I am supposed to do to keep the $%
