Favorite Phone?

I want to buy a phone to participate in Straight Talk's BYOP Program.

Any suggestions?

What's your favorite GSM phone?

I really like LG phones because of their GUI but willing to stray away....

If you can wait a few weeks(or even sooner perhaps), the Nexus 5 will be out. It's loosely based on the LG G2, will have very good specs, be unlocked, LTE capable, and cost about $350 for the 16 GB version and $399 for the 32 GB(the pricing and storage are rumors, but I'd say they are pretty plausible).

I'm using a Nexus 4 on ST BYOP and it works well.

Welcome to the forums, Dexterity and absolutely no reason to apologize. :)
Nexus 5 is a great option. Can you give us some more details on what you'll be doing? Budget, size, battery life, camera? What's most important to you.

I'm of the opinion that if you want to deal with GSM BYOD, the Google Nexus is where you start your search. This is because it's generally a true high-end phone at the time of release, and it's offered at an unbeatable off-contract price for such a phone.

When looking at it, make a list of areas where it falls up short for your needs, and then look at the alternatives that may suit you. For example, I looked long and hard at the Nexus 4. I decided that I wanted my next phone to have official LTE support and all bands for both AT&T and T-Mobile, 1080p display, at least 32GB storage with 64GB preferred, and a removable battery. I also have a history of spending $500+ on off-contract device, so the low price wasn't as big a deal for me. That's why I went with the S4 Google Play edition, as every issue with the Nexus 4, by my standards, was addressed by that phone, and it even keeps the most current stock OS :) Heck, it even seems that the Nexus 5 won't quite satisfy me (no removable battery, 32GB is ok but not preferred), so no buyers remorse.
