Help Favouritism from Samsung Apps?

I have a strange problem with Samsung Apps and I was wondering if anyone could help.
I got my SGS about a month after my friend got his, both are unbranded international gti-9000, both from the same Carphone Warehouse store in the UK, both on T-mobile, so in theory they should be identical right?

The problem I have is that in Samsung Apps he gets a lot of things that I don't.
When the program manager first showed up there he got it a month or so before me, he's had the car home and desk home apps show up in his about a month ago and yet I didn't.

Both handsets have Froyo 2.2 installed, I upgraded both from 2.1 via kies on my pc the same day, and his still showed more apps than mine. About a week ago I upgraded mine to 2.2.1 but his is still on 2.2, and I still don't get half the apps he does.
Does anyone know why this is?

I have the same, but we have different versions installed... I dont see that it should matter... Very annoyed as there are somethings that I would like that I can not get.

Nope, official Froyo 2.2.
Exactly the same as I was on until I upgraded to 2.2.1 the other day.
It just seems strange to me that identical phones on the same contract with the same carrier and I can't get some things he can, and it only seems to be apps from Samsung themselves, not third party apps.
 
Well, I couldn't see anyone of those either until I flashed a custom rom. It's something to do with your phone signature, which unfortunately isn't that easy to change.

Well that's strange, I wonder why he gets them then as he isn't on a custom rom either.
maybe I should send samsung an email and wait for a year for them to bother to get back to me lol
 
I can give you the apk files if you want. It's not like they are copy righted, and they probably won't work on non Galaxy S phones.
 
That would be great, I am only after the car and desk home apps, I found them once via google, but home kept crashing after install and the car was totally different to the one my friend had.
