FB app taking too much RAM!

Facebook android app has started to consume too much of the available RAM. this wasnt an issue earlier, but since a week or so, this has become a regular thing. out of my 320 mb available RAM, around 90 mb is consumed by fb app. making my phone extremely slow, it hangs up (with even power button not working when pressed once) and turns the screen off a couple of mins later. today it got worse, with my phone hanging completely, and i had to reboot it.

am i the only one with such issue?

im using Sony Xperia Live with Walkman, 1 GHz processor, and 512 RAM, and official ICS.

The official FB app is a pig! It's slow, runs constantly and eats battery and resources.

What you could do is to turn off notifications and auto-refresh. That should help considerably. If you can stand it, you could also switch to an alternative like Friendcaster or just use the mobile site.

A battery saver app can also limit its data usage.
