FBI and Google Glass

Yes, this is true.

One day this may change, but for today, I guess Glass Explorers who need them to see will have to pay a bit more for an extra pair of glasses, or just not go to movies.

pretty sure everyone who has google glass would be smart enough to actually own a real pair of normal glasses.

It's a shame, but it's a double standard. Smartphones have the ability to record video on them, but they don't prevent you or harass you for going to a movie if you own one. Just because the device can record video, doesn't that you're actually doing it.

smartphones are normally kept in a pocket during a movie though. If you had your phone in front of your face several times going to the same theater, the same thing would happen.

Yeh because you're pointing a video camera at the screen, whether it be Glass or a smartphone. It's enough to raise suspicion that the person might be recording the movie, i.e. infringing copyright.

BTW I read about Glass being illegal in Russia and Ukraine. Covert video cameras are illegal for the general public to own and use or something, in other words Glass is basically spy equipment.

There's so many places where photography and video recording are strictly prohibited like customs and border areas, and you start pointing a camera around, it can/will get you put in the slammer. Think you'd have to carry your regular glasses around, rather than always wearing Glass, even if turned off.

I was standing in a very long line with friends waiting to see the body of Mao Zedong in Tiananmen Square a few days ago. I took some pictures of the line with my phone and was specifically told by the police to stop taking pictures. I'm thinking if I was seen to be wearing Glass, could have been ordered to remove them. Needless to say security was extremely tight at Mao's memorial building, and the security checks were more thorough than any airport I've seen. Photography strictly prohibited, cellphones and other electronics turned off and had to leave any bags and packages at a cloakroom some distance away.

Maybe, maybe not. They might just think you're disturbing the audience by texting. If that was the case, you would just get kicked out rather than subjected to fbi interrogation.
