So i made an urgent order on Wednesday and paid for the next day/overnight. The shipper however didnt ship it till Thursday because i made an order after 11am so the package was supposed to be here on Friday thats fine with me. Now i found out that my package will be delivered only on Tuesday due to storm in Memphis.

That's weird. How far away are you? I ordered a book yesterday and here is my tracking:

Im in NYC but i ordered a gift for my friend. He lives in Seattle, Washington the package has been sent from LA, California. Doesn't make any sense..

So i called the shipper. They will refund my overnight shipping cost.. Turns out the shipper messed up not Fedex. The package has been picked up by Fedex on Friday because the shipper sent Shipment information to FedEx on Thursday at 1:27 PM. When i ordered it on Wednesday at 12:32pm. That's kinda stupid The shipper's website has a statement on the website "An expedited order placed before 11:00 AM will be shipped out the same day" That's fine with me.. But what in the hell took you so long that my package was sent 2 days after order. To me it sounds like that for those who order before 11am and pay overnight shipping will get the package sent same day but for those who ordered after 11am and paid overnight shipping can just wait another 2 days. Fedex knows how to find an excuse :D at least they tried to make it fair.

Newegg did a real good job for me once. Ordered surround system from them a while ago paid regular shipping because 2 day shipment was like $80.. The thing is that i ordered way late like at 4:30pm and 10 minutes later was notified that my card was charged and surround system was shipped.. I was like no way.. went to website and said picked by fedex at 4:55 pm.. Guess what the next day i going downstairs to check the mail and fedex dude with the hand dolly going upstairs pulling my sound system all sweaty and mad because elevator didnt work... i was like DUDE let me help you my dear friend this is package is for me! I gave him ice cold bottle of water.. but he kept asking me for water after that..

I'm glad you got it sorted out. Sometimes you can order cheaper shipping and get next day service. If the shipper gets it out same day, FedEx has this tendancy to try to push everything through the system as soon as they get it. On top of that, a courier might be light on deliveries that day or has the work ethic of delivering it as soon s/he gets it. It doesn't always work like this, but stuff happens.

As far as the water, I always waited for the customer to offer. Customers tend to get offended (as you pointed out) if you keep asking too much. Your courier is definitely abusing your courtesy...
