Root Few Problems

As of late I have been having a couple problems with my indulge they are as follows:

1.Sometimes launcher pro force closes and gets stuck in a loop where it keeps asking me to force close.Cant do anything else because the pop up reappears immediatly after closing it.(had to restore from recovery) which is a pain because I lose info that I have either saved that same day or after the last back up.

2.When I restore from cwm sometimes on a new backup my phone gets stuck on the android boot screen,forcing me to restore from a prior backup.losing all the data saved after the last back up. new backup corrupted?

3.Superuser force closes.I have noticed it tends to do this when using titanium backup pro to uninstall an app.Maybe root access apps causing this?

4.apps disappearing:Now I am having problems with apps disappearing,some appear under settings,app management but have an android symbol as if not being recognized.my Market has disappeared and even when i try to install from systemdata/app/vending.apk it wont install.Phone has been 0din and reflashed to basix symptom showed up a days later

any help greatly appreciated.I have cleared dalvik cache,cache,advance restore boot and system via cwm for issue #2 and the same for issue number one minus restoring boot and system.It all leads to me having to restore from a previous cwm back up. as of 11/25/11 i have 0din back to stock and reflashed basix.

The last backup I did that seemed corrupted was from 11-10-11 forcing me to restore from 11-01-11,I did use the power button to get to recovery.............wonder if thats what caused it?


one more thing is their anyway to get data back from the backup that didnt work?

EDIT: Issues 1-3 have been resolved.Not sure if they were all caused by this but I had my setcpu to set at boot.I unchecked the box a few weeks ago and have not had any issues,except the disappearing apps here and there.

I have had the launcher pro force close on me too and had to Odin and reflash. I use MyBackup Root and it hasn't given me any problems.

That's a drastic step. Your problem likely would have been solved with a simple wipe of cache and dalvik-cache.

OP, it is possible to restore data from that backup, but unless there's something critical that you need, I advise against it. It sounds like you have some corruption going on, and that the best thing for you would be a clean wipe, SD card format, and reflash. Even an Odin in there if you like to ensure a clean slate.

I would like to extract the time card from the data that is corrupted.I use a time clock on my phone that keeps track of my work hours.all the other data I should have minus new phone numbers or contacts but those are recoverable via asking for them again.

1, Some apps cause my launcher to FC on me, specifically pandora playlist widgit. I'd probably try installing another launcher to see what that does before whipping off your phone.

2. if i do anything backup related i store it on my pc, Actually i think i backed stuff up with cwm or my backup root pro or somthing the first time i installed root and or basix, restoring things can be tricky sometimes to do it the proper way, especially when flashing and re-flashing and re-restoring all the time.

3. I\ve never had SU forceclose on my phone. I dont know what would cause this, maybe we could help more if we knew what SU is trying to grant access too/what apps are trying to gain SU access


usually whipping cache/dalvic cache fixes my problems if any concerning hangs at boot times/apps misbehaving. I havent had to flash my phone yet, i've had cwm root/basix all installed on the days of releases

If you cant find a solution to your problem i'd probably re install root/cwm, if that doesn't work then i'd flash it. And DO not restore anyof your old backups. I'd just save what ever it is your trying to save, on your computer. Then when your phones up and running with out having restored it with anysort of backup see how it does, is it still giving you the same symptoms? If not i'd then try to restore it to see if it'll start showing them agian.

-- and yes somewhere before you reinstall cwm/root or whatever your planning try to just format the sd card first.
