FIELD TEST: Traveling abroad with the Nexus One

I just returned to the USA from England and Canada. I was able to use pay-as-you-go sim cards in these countries without much fuss. The only obstacles I had were in Canada with Rodgers. They don't have a data plan for PAYG. I was able to use data on Rodgers with my t-mobile sim....at a high rate of course.

The main thing is that I can now travel without having to schlep multiple phones. I can use the N1 and just bring sim cards.

BTW: Back in September I was in Australia with the MyTouch. It worked fine for voice but I was only able to use data on their edge network. I am confident the N1 will handle 3G there.

Good news for those of us that travel.
