Yesss! The Netherlands has set right the last finals, and won from the leading world (and European) champion: Spain.
5-1 :D Hello :D
Here's to all the hopes, losses, victories and sorrows.

Today is:
Group c: Greece - Colombia
Group d: Uruguay - Costa Rica
Group d: England - Italy

Your thoughts, insights, hopes, fears?

I don't watch football, but my observations is that England get knocked out in the quarter finals in most competitions. So that's where my money is ;)

Firstly... congrats to the Netherlands (who I've got as my team in the office sweepstake :D )

I had a crazy dream last night where all of the games between England, Italy and Uruguay ended as draws, so the group was decided on exactly how many goals everyone managed to put past Costa Rica!

I'm just glad I'm not at my last job. Virtually the entire kitchen staff were Latino (mix of Salvadorean, Mexican and Honduran) and I couldn't keep em off their phones watching the games or the banter among em. :p
With that said, I may try to catch a game here or there. :)

Well.. that was an interesting one.. so much for my crazy dream related predictions.
Costa Rica certainly aren't going to be the whipping boys that everyone thought... and England played much better against Italy than I thought they were going to (its just that Italy played even better).

USA vs Ghana soon. Not that I usually watch football (or soccer as we weirdos Americans call it) but I shall be watching this one

Just thought I'd confirm it..... ENGLAND are out.

Mwhahahahahahahahahahah,

Ahhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.

:-P of course they still did better than Scotland, but for those that don't know, the English press really riles up all of England's neighbours who share a tv network :-(
