While it is possible to use swiFTP to do it over the internet (using their servers) I have not tried it.
when you use it in its basic way, you are not sending anything over the internet, but rather over the local WiFi network to which you are connected. So if your phone is connected to your home WiFi, and your PC is connected to the same home network (either by WiFi or network cable), the data is going over your network (back and forth across your router) and doesn't have anything to do with your modem.
That's why you could, if you wanted, have a home network of computers that connect to each other, but do not connect to the internet (external network), thus not needing a modem.
I'm pretty sure it was Bytes so that's good to know.You sure it was a capital B as in Bytes? Typically speed is measured in lowercase b (bits).
That's decent speed if Bytes, if it's a little b, that's pretty slow.
