Is it safe to get rid of the data from the nasty goo file app if I'm using a different file app? It's not huge but would definitely save space. I'm trying to trim these things.

try Sd Maid or the build in google flies.

Yes, you can delete the data in the Google Files app.

The one you dont want to mess with is the stock files app, it is required to be there so dont Canta it(wireless adb user uninstall for those that dont know) because it will break the file system on the device.

Much like how you have to leave the stock launcher alone even if you are using any other launcher.

Yes, in most cases you can delete data from Files by Google without major risk, especially if you already use another file management application.
