how do I transfer all my music,pics ect to my laptop to put onto another phone? I have a memory card in the phone all files stored on there not phone memory.

You could put the sdcard into the new phone
Or
Take the sdcard out of your phone, put in on your laptop (via ausb card reader if needed) and cpu the files to your laptop
Or
Set your phone as an ftp server using an app called eshare (or other similar app) enter the ftp address in your laptop file manager and copy the files over wifi.
Or
sync all the files from your phone to dropbox or similar cloud service and sync them back to your new phone.
The first or last options are easiest in my view. Ie no laptop needed
