File type for importing contacts

Jegre

Hi,
I have an LG Optimus One. I have a database of contacts on my computer that can be made into any file type (ie, excel, csv). I want to import my contacts into my phone but not have it conneceted to gmail. I have downloaded an application (Go Contacts Ex). First, what file type do I need to have in order to import. Second, once I have the correct file type for the android system/go contacts to read how do I do this without connecting it to gmail?
Thanks!

I dont know how to begin to help you...lol.

I came from the old Win Mo to Android. I tried doing cvs and couldnt get it to work right. I wound up saving my contacts on my Win Mo phone in vCard format, put it on my sd card and imported it when I started up my Android phone.

On my Android phones, it has an option to save in vCard format to the sd card anyway so I assume that the easiest way to do it for getting them on the phone besides importing from Gmail.
