Help File Type?

[huntmarv]

Can anyone tell me what this type of file is and what its for? These long number files appear in my file manager in my internal memory. This particular file is 36.00B in size. Some of them are 0B in size. 311564a5-3579-4506-a6cd-54cbf83d29d1...... When I try to open one of them I get a message file type not supported.
Thanks...
PS- When I hit the "details" option it only gives the size of the file and the big number.

It could be an .exo file. That's the only type of file with a long string of numbers I could find on my HTC One M8. According to Fileinfo.com it's a "Video file format used by the YouTube application for Android; stores a chunk of a video that is pieced together with other chunks of the same video in order to be played; downloaded through the application in order to be available for playback offline.

When you download a video to be played offline, the video is downloaded in chunks with the "exo" extension, compressed, and then encrypted. The video is then decrypted and reassembled by the application when the user selects it for playback. The EXO format is only playable through the YouTube application.

NOTE: The EXO format is only supported by the YouTube application available in India for Android"

So we can see them but not open them. Try ES File Explorer to be able to see the file extension. You can probably do it with your devices file explorer but I don't know what you have.
