File Viewing

I am doing some work with an app right now that downloads music and images to the phone. Though I could just download a 3rd party file viewer (which is what I would do, but for people who would download this app...) is there a way I can browse these files (on the sd card) just using the phone's basic browsing stuff?

I've looked around a fair bit, and I haven't found a way yet. It looks like you can make folders, but not get pre-existing folders on the sd card without a file viewer/manager program.

So help me out? Is there a way?

A file manager is required.

A local file manager would be far more useful than some of the bloatware we all got with our phones. However, they don't seem to think it's that important. There are plenty of good free file managers in the market thank goodness. I use Astro but I've never tried a different manager. It worked for me so I've not shopped for another.
