In the S-Planner app that came with my Samsung Galaxy S3, I have found options to include, or not to include, Facebook data in my calendar. Unfortunately, if I include _all_ my Facebook friends, the calendar is completely swamped with useless Facebook data. This is because most of my (several hundred) so-called friends are actually fellow writers, most of whom I've never met and have no interest in their personal lives or birthdays. They are there so I can monitor their book releases, signings etc. On the other hand, having close friends and family birthdays in my smartphone calendar would be extremely useful.
Is there any way to filter the Facebook data so that only the birthdays of contacts marked as either "close friends" or "family" are included in the calendar?
