Guys,
Finallly we have got the Gingerbread update through KIES, So far i am happy no problem it fine phone has sped up a bit, Visual Improvement is good. Overall not much of diffrence.;)

Just checked. I got an update on Kies. You need to update Kies first to 2.1 before you get the Galaxy SL update. Now off to make a Titanium and MyBackup Pro backup and remove the SD card before updating! WOOT!

EDIT: Oh yeah, is it TW3 still? Or we get TW4?

i knew it was still TW3 since even fresher firmware updates xxkpq 2.3.6 via odin still uses the old launcher
im still trying to find ways to revert back to my old froyo so i can update ginger officially thru kies
updating GB via odin is easy but reverting back to froyo is a real pain in the a$$

This one cant be rooted via SuperOneClick. You have to flash it to Odin. So just flash yours with CM7 and you'll be better off I think. HAHAHA

i bricked my phone this morning while trying combinations
went to service center and told them my phone went blackscreen when i tried to update via kies and computer went bluescreen :p
got my phone back in the afternoon with official GB from samsung :D
weird though
build number is dxkp9 but baseband version is dxkp7

PDA: I9003DXKP9
PHONE: I9003DXKP7
CSC: I9003OLBKP7

@chanchan:wouldnt have problems if CM7 works on our phone, sadly it doesnt

@chanhan

if you want your phone rooted for your titanium backup use this
i already tested and it works
FOR DXKP9
Code:

credits to ganeshbiyer

dont unzip/untar
flash file(CFROOT-DXKP9-10112011.tar) as PDA using odin

flashing with odin is really good
im liking it alot
already tested many different roms with it including posiedon (waiting for a stable version in DXKP9). i really like that rom and i highly recommend it.

i only bricked my phone because of carelessness, but partly it was a bit intentional coz i was expecting it so i can have it reflashed officially.
if in the end of the week and im not happy with dxkp9, i'll be flashing xxkpq as it has very good feedbacks. and will also try doomlords new kernel.

but for now im sticking with dxkp9 because i was also thinking of selling my phone for an upgrade. i9003 will never have an ice cream sandwich upgrade. the best we can have is GB 2.3.7 in the near future but thats all.

I'm not looking forward to more, as I plan to get a tablet next, which would decrease the kinds of things I do with my phone. I'll just need it for emails, social network, chatting and etc on the go and do the other stuff on the tablet. I dont really play games on it so the phone itself is quite enough for me. As far as I have read, I dont think I'd try to Flash it anymore. :p

There is one more update to 2.3.6 after gingerbread avalliable thru KIES but please UPDATE your KIES first. Few visual improvements tough

hmmm. are u sure it worked? its not that im doubting however i just had it upgraded to GB from the samsung service center however still it didnt work. Sadly, i had it changed back to its own original Version- Froyo 2.2.1 and now, im having this problems- inoperable cam and slow OS after the upgrade. T_T,:(
