Root finally got my

finally got my prevail now im trying to root it on windows 8 i installed the drivers and turned debuging but when i put it in download mode odin doesnt recognize my phone

8 shouldn't make a diff I would think. Does pc recognize the phone without odin opened up? If not need to reinstall drivers and get that to work first!

You are using the odin from the downloads right? Not just any odin?
Maybe try another odin out of a different download from the odin thread!

it was windows 8 was missing a file i needed so i reinstalled windows 7 and it worked like a champ

Got no problem connecting and/or rooting on Windows 8 Pro !!! Works just fine !

Maybe wrong drivers, like 32-bit instead of 64-bit or visa verse..... or just an old driver version !

These drivers work in Win7 Ultimate/Enterprise and Win8 Pro :
